Second post surgery update

Paul here again with another update regarding Kev’s recovery after his heart surgery.

After having his breathing tube removed yesterday about 10 hours post surgery Kev was able to get some sleep and of course was up and about this morning, my sister Kerryn visited first thing in the morning to find him talking, cracking jokes and requesting a cappuccino from the cafe! While she was there he also got up and walked around the ICU for the first time, so his recovery is tracking really well so far, he’s full of compliments for the nursing staff who are looking after him terrifically well.

I visited this afternoon and despite being a little tired after all the action in the morning he was in good spirits – and requesting another cappuccino!

Quick note to those reading from Queensland who are planning to visit Dad in hospital, at this stage Wednesday onwards is probably about the time to start considering it.
